Crystals (X´TAL)
Crystals are a result of precipitation of salts in urine upon altered pH levels, insufficient water intake, or overconsumption of certain food. Most crystals can also appear in healthy individuals, but can cause urolithiasis, if persisting (e.g. calcium-oxalate crystals). Other crystal types, e.g. cholesterol or bilirubin crystals can indicate liver or kidney diseases.
